DR. WALTER BARR
Dr. Walter Barr holds degrees in Music, Music Performance and Music Education from Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University and post-doctoral work at the Eastman School of Music. His academic career includes teaching posts at Arizona State University, Morehead State University (Ky.) The University of Colorado at Denver and Metropolitan State University of Denver where he is currently a Professor Emeritus of Music.
In addition to University teaching, Walter has an impressive career as conductor, performer, and writer. His composition/arranging credentials include jingles, orchestral works, wind band, jazz ensemble (vocal and instrumental) and chamber works.

Bringing many years of performance experience to Ritmo Latino, Walter’s performances credentials include work with Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme, Dizzy Gillespie, Gladys Knight, Ray Charles, Sammy Davis Jr., Terence Blanchard, Wynton Marsalis, Henry Mancini, Marvin Gaye, Lou Rawls, Dave Brubeck, Johnny Mathis plus many others. Walter is a Bach Trumpet/Artist clinician and is a Professor Emeritus at The Metropolitan State University of Denver.
